Taking a break from the headlines? WordFall is a free word game: catch the falling letters, put them in order and make words before they slip away. No sign-up, no adverts inside the game, and your scores stay on your own device.

How to play

Drag letters from the playfield into your tray, or tap them. Rearrange the tray by dragging, tap a letter to take it out, then press Submit on any word of 3 to 12 letters. On a keyboard, just type: each key catches the lowest matching letter, Enter submits and Backspace removes the last one.

Three ways to play

• Classic: no clock, five speeds. Missed letters simply fall away.
• Association: build words that link to the topic on screen. For “Boat”, try ANCHOR, SAIL or PROPELLER.
• Competition: 90 seconds, no pausing. Share the challenge code so friends get the same letters and you can compare scores.

Scoring

Rare letters and longer words score more, and a quick next word earns speed points. Each word only counts once per game, so think twice before you repeat yourself. That’s the MaybeBS way.
